The Mystery Plant…

About 4 weeks ago I walked down to the ol compost pile and saw lots of weeds…but wait! There was some sort of viney bushy plant that was just out of the ordanary.

I have had a garden in the past but that was before chickens! The girls found a way into our garden even after fencing in the garden and fencing in the chickens we always ended up with half our produce pecked at! So we stopped gardening and now trade eggs at the farmers market for whatever veggies we need.

This is our mystery plant today. In the past week it has gotten buds and started blooming yesterday with pretty orange/yellow flowers.

(I don’t know why this picture is soooo big! sorry :p )

A couple buds fell off and I think it could have been from the wind last night but around here I’m never sure! The leaves are pretty big some of them being over a foot long and 6 inches wide.

I think it could be some type of bush zuchinni but really I have no idea! I’ve been amazed at how fast it has grown! It has trippeled in size every week.

If any of you have any ideas of what this could be please comment! I would love to know what suprise is in store for me!

Bake with ya later!!! Byyyyeeeee!!!!!

  1. I was going to say “pumpkin” … the pictures of the flowers/leaves looks very similar. But, I’ve never grown squash so I would never know what that looks like! It’s sure to give you some sort of fruit/veggie!
